Hi all. Welcome to my blog.

It's where i met my wife (proprietor of Katnandu Aesthetics), got married (at Willistead Manor), and spend most of my time relaxing alongside my pond. There are also several local watering holes to relax and blow off some steam with friends. The Victoria tavern is one of the oldest (and my favorite) bars in the city and you're sure to run into a neighbor or two.
I work in Detroit just minutes from my door, helping automotive clients achieve their marketing goals through digital advertising initiatives. I'm also pursuing my MBA at Walsh College, only one more class to go! I look forward to the future when i can lay down my roots and start a family in this great community.
I hope you get a chance to, see and enjoy this historic pocket of Windsor through some of my future posts. Feel free to post a comment or ideas on how to improve this blog.
Thanks, Shawn.
Hi. Ran across the Buzz tonight. Very nice endeavor.
ReplyDeleteIn 1912 my Mom was born at 152 Monmouth (pre-1935 address).
This would be somewhere in the 900 block on Monmouth today.
Stories of Walkerville have always fascinated me - "guard geese" & all
(true or otherwise). Recent dual-citizenship quest has fired my
interest in where my Mom came from. Despite considerable poking
around the internet, I can find no chart or cross-reference as to what
the old address numbers changed to in 1935 !? Have you ever heard
of such? By counting houses from Niagara to Richardson (formerly
named Huron), I tentatively place my Mom's place as the 18th from
Niagara, but am not sure. Thanks much and best wishes from the
Straits of Mackinac in northern Michigan.
